He would always walk into class, I kid you not, with the biggest, brightest smile I have ever seen.
— Stella M.
He did everything to the second power, and the next day to the third power.
— AJ S.
Even as a young little boy, Eames’ smile was distinct and unforgettable. Quiet – but filled with knowing.
— Lynn W.
This is how I want to remember Eames, and I always will, is a funny, kind, patient, helpful, athletic, smart, friend. I will forever miss him, I know where ever he is, he’s re-inventing airplane seats and making friends.
— Mia B.
It’s dark, so early
and my alarm goes off,
I am cold and I don’t want to get up,
and there you are,
your commitment
to never miss a practice.
— Sloane B.
I remember in Kindergarten that nobody wanted to be my friend because I was “disabled”. Eames, being the great person he was, invited me to play with him and sit with him. That was the nicest thing anyone has done for me.
— Beau L.
I was always very touched that he would stop by writing club after finishing his homework. Here, he would work on a crazy creative writing piece or finish a worksheet he was designing in his tiny print. We never take it personally, but so many of our students out-grow us when they leave our classes, and so Eames’s willingness to let me know about what was going on in his life felt special.
— Julia H.
He had kindness and music bursting out of him.
— Morgan D.
Whenever Eames solved a difficult problem or proved a concept, he would light up with joy of accomplishment. We also remember Eames as a wonderful human being: kind, earnest and very friendly. His sunny personality warmed up our lessons.

There was this one time this year when the students and I came across a math problem we were struggling to solve. And Eames was working on his own because he had his own math program, but I did what any good teacher would do, and I asked Eames to figure it out. But I was in a mood for a good challenge and so I sat down next to Eames and I said let’s see who can solve it first. And I did! I figured it out before Eames and I jumped up and yelled out as if I was the 12-year-old in the room and said, “I got it. I beat Eames!” And I remember looking at Eames and he was smiling. And I thought, “Oh look, he’s proud of me.” And then I looked at him again and he was still smiling and that’s when it occurred to me that he had just let me win. Because you know what? That was totally something Eames would do. He was that kind of kid. He was so incredibly talented and yet so humble and just the nicest kid.

He walked my way.
and I saw a child,
a fine young man
who spoke with thought
and deep sincerity.
A child, a fine young man.
He meant so much
to so many.
For he was…
a wonderful son
a fine big brother,
so loving and caring.
A gifted young student
who gave of his best
delighted in challenge.
A happy young man
who lit up the room
like a sunbeam
when he smiled and laughed.
A trustworthy friend
who'd stay at your side
through thick
and through thin.
A special young man
we were so honored to know
so beloved by his class
and his team mates.
The young man
with a love of music,
the master of sound
who made the notes
dance.
We will never forget
those notes
rocking through the air
floating on a star
forever.
He walked my way
and I see a child,
a fine young man
for he is a wonderful son
a fine big brother,
so loving and caring.
I know that child
that fine young man
who walks my way
and when I call his name
he answers
for he lives on in your hearts
forever.
A child, a fine young man.
Eames.
